CSI NY is a fabulous show to work on. When I auditioned for it the writer Peter Lenkov noticed that I was in The Lost
World and told me he was involved with the pilot episode of the show. Turns out he knew quite a few people I worked
with on TLW.... Small world... 9 years later.......
The cast, the crew, everyone is delightful to be around and work with. The set has such a light hearted feel to it and
everyone really seems to love his/her job. I walked into the make-up trailer and there I see a smiling face I hadn't
seen in almost 3 years! Stacey K. Black my hair dresser from NIP/TUCK! She's the one who convinced me to cut my
bangs/fringe... Which for a girl is a huge decision... Silly I know... But, she helped change my look for that year and next.
Its always nice to see a friendly face when working on something new.
My first scene was with Eddie Cahill who is a darling man and a very funny one too. The camera guys and him seem to play it
up quite a bit and crack as many jokes as possible which made me feel at ease on my first day and first scene. In fact it was
hard to stop smiling or chuckling before the director yelled, 'Action'!
My scene with Gary Sinise was quite something too. First of all... 'It was Gary freaking Sinise'!... Secondly...
He's got these piercing green eyes that stare at you like he can see right through you. Very nice man... Keeps
to himself mostly and doesn't talk a whole lot... Mostly because he's always got so many lines ... Difficult line to
remember.... So I'm sure he's one of those actors that likes to reserve his energy for when he's actually acting.
These 1 hour series TV show's are difficult to shoot. The hours alone for the cast and crew are grueling.
I showed up on my last day at 1030pm,,, didn't shoot til 130am and didn't leave set until 330am!
And my son gets up at 7am these days! Uh!
But, even though the hours can be long... I still thank my lucky stars I do what I do and love what I do for a living.
Lets hope they keep me around in Hollywood for the rest of my life.
